RE: RE: Miners vote NDPA couple of hours after castigating people for bringing partisan politics to this board I'm seeing the same old crap rise to the surface again. I'm not taking a position for or against any party, simply because, as I said in my previous post, Copper Fox will not be affected by the election result, whoever happens to win.
However, although I'm not an NDP supporter, I need to address one particular half truth. Next_big_thing wrote, in part "...This is what happened in Ontario when Bob Rae was elected some years ago..." Those familiar with Ontario politics will remember that Bob Rae came up the middle between a Conservative/Liberal fight and came to power right in the middle of a huge recession in Ontario. His efforts to combat the effects of that recession led to his losing the next election but guess why he lost? It wasn't the right who took him down, nor was it the centre, but his own union supporters who rebelled against the necessary actions he took.
Bob Rae is smart and honest. Lest it be thought that I'm partisan, I think also that Michael Ignatieff is smart and honest. I also think Joe Clark was smart and honest in the days when the Conservative party was truly a conservative party and not what it is now, which is the tea party in disguise. Clark made one stupid mistake and was too decent for his own good when he decided to relinquish leadership of the Conservative party even though he still had majority support. Preston Manning is smart and honest. Harper is smart but he's not honest. He's a borderline sociopath.
But this is all by the by. Once again, Copper Fox will do just fine whatever happens on Monday. Maybe we can return to talking about what will actually affect the company.
