Tight Cotton Supply to Continue Into 2011
Tight Cotton Supply to Continue Into 2011The National Cotton Council predicts that cotton supplies will continue to have difficulty keeping up with demand in 2011. They predict increased plantings in 2011 but with the increases in demand coming in from many areas they see a Stock to Use Ratio (SUR) of 37%. This ratio tends to dictate cotton pricing and is equal to the 2010 numbers which, as we know, have been at an all time low. (Stock, is the inventory of cotton, and use is the demand from the mills).
