Hello Synodon
Hello SynodonNow would be a good time for some PR with a major pipeline leak in the news,,,
May 5 (Reuters) - The section of PlainsAll American Pipeline LP's (PAA.N) Rainbow Pipeline thatruptured on April 29, causing Alberta's biggest oil spill in 36years, was being examined by regulators on Thursday.
The regulators were trying to determine if the crack is asign of bigger problems with the aging line.
Inspectors from Alberta's Energy Resources ConservationBoard and outside engineers were looking at the damaged pipeand hoped to have basic findings "in the next few days" aboutthe cause of the crack, which has spilled 28,000 barrels of oilon to the northern Alberta muskeg, said Davis Sheremata, aspokesman for the board.
If the board determines the one-inch gash in the pipe ispart of a bigger problem with the line, which was constructedin the mid-1960s, the line will remain closed until inspectorsare satisfied it can operate safely.
