I don`t doubt it was day traders. This stock is a traders dream and they always want there money off the table ready for the next day. I also would think that 75% of the volume is them. Slowly but surely as more and more people accumulate the shares it will probably be harder and more risky. But they will always be with us in some sort of capacity. JMO. Good luck.
