The water can be used in the solution mining. This will make the solution mining that much more attractive. Some one mentioned agriculture in the area. There is a very good chance the land is not arable as usually there is a lot of Salt present where you find Potash. The salinity makes the land useless for anything else. The positive here is that very little impact will be felt environmentally as the land is already impaired.
