Azure has developed electric and hybrid electric drive technologies for the light to heavy duty commercial vehicle category (the Technology). Azure has developed three primary product groups, which include full hybrid electric; mild hybrid electric; and pure electric solutions. Target markets include hybrid electric delivery vans and shuttle buses, as well as electric drive applications.

More exposure in the UK

The UK's biggest ever collection of "planet friendly" vehicles will go on display at a special event tomorrow.

Aimed at fleet operators and users, the "GreenFleet Arrive'n'Drive" event offers an opportunity to test drive a large range of the latest "clean" vehicles, around the Rockingham race circuit.

Attendees will also get the chance to take in a large range of products and services aimed at backing up this growing industry, with expert advice on how to reduce the running costs and CO2 emissions of transport operations.

Manufacturers taking part include Citroën (exhibiting the C-Zero) Peugeot (with the Ion), Honda, Vauxhall, Seat, Volkswagen, Kia, Mitsubishi, Ford, Volvo, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai and Tata. The free-to-attend event also offers the business world its first opportunity to see and test-drive the Ampera, Vauxhall's range-extended electric vehicle that is due out in 2012.

Show-goers will also be able to see the new Ford Transit Connect Electric, the van that has its battery pack installed under the floor, so that load space isn't eaten up. Plugged into a 13A domestic socket, it takes around eight hours for a full charge.
