RE: REITs are awesome in times like this...With Q1 out for Whiterock, REITs are indeed awesome on days like this.
I've been looking at commercial real estate myself and find it hard to get something close to Whiterock Q1 numbers.
Average least term of 6.1 years? uh, more like 5 years, less if you're buying with tenant already.
8% return annual. Locally at best you can get a gross 6%. You can go more with better properties, I'm looking at Ontario if I want 8% annual.
And that's just a glance of these numbers.
