speaking with the project manager in the past, he mentioned that they had to redrill some of the holes a couple times due to the holes collapsing...so that would be taken into account when developing an open pit, the walls would not be supportive as you dug deeper.
It was mentioned that the geological structure would work well for solution mining, I was told that there was a non porous layer that would be a benefit.
I would imagine that there would still be a possibility to open pit some product based on how shallow the resource is, but based on things now, it'll most likely be a shallow solution mine.

Still going to be a moneymaker for AAA longs!!!
