New Drill ResultsLago Dourado Intercepts 57.5m of 1.39 g/t and 1m of 101.1g/t Gold at Juruena Project in Brazil
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 2, 2011) - Lago Dourado Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:LDM), (the "Company") is pleased to announce further assay results from its 18,000-metre Phase I drill program on its 100%-owned Juruena Gold Project in Mato Grasso, Brazil. Results for the remaining 5 holes of 13 drilled at the Crentes Zone are summarized in Table 1 below (the initial 8 holes are summarized in our May 11, 2011 press release). The remaining 60 holes to be drilled under the Phase I program will be ongoing through the course of the summer and the fall.
Highlights of this release include:
- Hole JRND010 intercepted 57.5 metres of 1.39 g/t gold, including 1.0 metre of 21.60 g/t gold and 7.0 metres of 3.77 g/t gold;
- Hole JRND012 intercepted 1.0 metre of 101.1 g/t gold and 36.0 metres of 1.07 g/t gold including 16.0 metres of 2.09 g/t gold.
Drilling to date at the Crentes Zone has encountered broad zones of mineralization down to a depth of 200 metres and over a strike length of 400m trending west-northwest (see Figure A: https://media3.marketwire.com/docs/LDM_FigureA0602.pdf). The mineralization remains open at depth and along strike with the high-grade soil anomaly extending 800 metres westwards and at least 600 metres eastwards. The primary purpose of the initial holes drilled at Crentes, which was the main target of historic drilling, is to gain an increased understanding on the controls and distribution of the gold mineralization on the property. With drilling at Crentes now complete, the three rigs turning on the property are testing high-priority targets identified by the recently completed geophysical and geochemical interpretation. The initial targets are the Jacare, Noventa Graus and Querosene zones, none of which have been previously drill tested (see Figure B: https://media3.marketwire.com/docs/LDM_FigureB0602.pdf).
