RE: RE: RE: KNCTR and Major Shorting? ........Skype, google voice, and various Voip providers have been in competition with Telus for years. They've already lost the bulk of their toll revenues as those that were prone to switch already have long ago. The new revenue engine is bandwidth, which is why you see them fighting for caps and usage based billing with the CRTC now.
KNCTR will capture a segment of the market - heck, I even tried it out for a spin, but I on't continue using it as #1 -the advertising is just too annoying, and #2 the bandwidth required to deliver that advertising is unnecessary - I can get a better service from google voice with much less bandwidth at the same cost - free. I can also use the google product to call internationally should I choose, add an incoming # or integrate with my home / cell phone, add voicemail etc. Users will gravitate to the most simple, most user friendly platforms.
Those responsible for knctr will need to keep that in mind for their product development. Many will try it out but the number that I'd like to see from INT is repeat users - that's the most telling metric.
