RE: US Senate voteThat has to be good news. I believe the policies are in place to help get propel the ethanol, esecially future cellulosic ethanol/chemical production into full speed.
It will be interesting to see the effect on Lignol if, or should I say when, they commercialize their HP-L Lignin production with ethanol as a by-product. I'm believing more and more that Lignol will become the first profittable ethanol producer in the world without the need of Government subsidies.
If Lignol's patented High Performance Lignin process can eventually replace a significant amount of the Phenol use that alone could be a game changer, and a game changer can do wonders to LEC's marekt cap currently sitting at approx. $10 million.
As the presetation posted by TheRock07 stated, in the North America market alone, Phenol use in the production of phenol-formaldehyde resins is 12 Billion lbs or 6 million tonnes per year, and it's projected that phenol as a commodity will continue to be very tight possibly leading to higher future prices.
Time will tell, but so far LEC's technology could be a true game changer. JMO
