Work performed to improve production

Work performed to improve production

Mine Operations

Mineralized material extracted in the reported period from stopes, drifting and old works surplus was 15,908 tonnes.

59% of the mine production came from Tajos Cuates Mine, 11% from Florida and the balance from Macedo - El

Gringo area. Mineralized material hauled to plant had average grades of 1.77 g Au/t and 160.86 g Ag/t.

Highlights of each mine are as follows:

Tajos Cuates Mine

At the Socavón level tunnels were widened to allow small trucks to haul mineral out to the surface.

Macedo Mine

At level 904, infrastructure continues. The concrete pouring at the loading bay was completed and exploration

development resumed at the SE end of the mine. Development of the ramp 904-2604 NW/SE continued, in a 3.5 m x 3.5 m sections, in order to reach lower levels with small trucks to haul mineral in a more productive and cheaper manner than with scoop trams. Also, to have blocks M-4 and M-9 ready for production and to explore them in depth.

Florida NW Mine

Exploration and development works continue at a slow pace. Due to poor quality of the rock at the face in the level

1240 where shotcreting is required. Also, development of the ramp at level 1355 has been slow, but soil is already controlled with shotcrete and the results of explorations were satisfactory.

Mill Area

Some works were performed for the expansion to 300 tpd and the remodeling of the mill. The advances were as

follows:

Crushing

A 5’ x 12’ screen is sent to a vendor to quote its repair. Also, plates, links and bolts will be manufactured for the

rehabilitation of the feeder instead of buying a new one.

Milling

Some tests were made with the mill 10’ x10’ without success. Pinion-crown set will be manufactured and installed

as well as a new pneumatic clutch. In March 2011, the Company awarded the contract to manufacture parts for the start-up of the mill.

Tailings Dam

Strengthening activities resumed at the base of the slope of the dam #2 and the perimetral berm was extended by

1.5 m.
