Morning Coffee (6/21/11) "Allana Potash announced an updated NI-43-101-compliant mineral resource estimate for its Danakhil Potash Project in Ethiopia; the updated estimate includes all four potash-bearing beds (sylvinite, upper and lower carnallite and kainitite) in the project and is comprised of M&I resources totaling 673 Mt. with an average grade 18.65% KCl (composite of all four potash beds) and inferred resources totaling 596 Mt. with an average grade of 19.96% KCl (composite of all four potash beds). One Bay Street brokerage commented, 'The total tonnage increase is even higher than we expected and we estimate it increases the mine life of the Dallol project to >100 years, assuming a 1M-tpy open-pit mining operation,' adding, 'Allana Potash has long been our preferred junior potash explorer/developer, as we believe it is set to be one of the first to begin production (2014) and we estimate it to have some of the lowest-operating costs of all producers globally.'"
Richard Kelertas, Dundee Securities (6/20/11) "Allana Potash's sylvinite/kainitite tonnage increased by 11x to 1.3B—even higher than our estimate of 5x–10x! The company released its updated NI 43-101 resource estimate prepared by ERCOSPLAN. . .we estimate increases the mine life of the Dallol project to >100 years, assuming a 1M metric ton per year open-pit mining operation. . . the company has long been our preferred junior potash explorer/developer, as we believe it is set to be one of the first to begin production (in 2014) and we estimate that Allana Potash will have some of the lowest operating costs of all producers globally."
