RE: Paul Van Eeden on BNN

RE: Paul Van Eeden on BNN

I have respect for Paul Van Eden but when gold was around $1000 I recall him saying it was going to $700 or so. I believe he also had similar comments once we were well past the $1000 mark. Shortly after he stopped writing commentaries on Kitco & similar sites, and concentrated on his clients business so I am not sure what his views were in the past 2-3 years, but they seem to be the same.  He was also bearish on Copper back then. Look where both commodities have gone.

Some believe that commodities are way overpriced but they seem to forget that for about a decade the prices were artificially kept low. So a good part of the current prices are probably simple catch up and warranted.

His current call may be correct but I doubt it, unless we have a Lehman's type event with Greece for example but governments will probably do all they can to prevent that and kick the can down the road one more time.
