I think it's a great move as well. I suspect there have been a lot of employees (the company has a large number of employee shareholders with minor holdings) dumping small amounts of shares at the "market" price. They don't realize that there is usually a large spread between the bid and ask prices and they get hosed with the low bid prices all too often.

The 10:1 consolidation should eliminate the spread in % terms and stop the "picking off" of "just sell my 1,000 shares quick since I need the cash" sellers.
