Mr. Chris England reports
SILVER FIELDS'KEREMEOS EXPLORATION PROGRAM UPDATE
SilverFields Resources Inc.'s exploration on its 100-per-cent-owned Keremeossilver property has discovered several new mineralized areas. Inaddition, a large grid has been surveyed over the targeted area, east ofthe former Dankoe mine, and over 300 soil samples have been submittedfor assay. Sampling is continuing and is expected to produce close to500 samples in this phase of exploration. A geophysical survey(magnetic, very-low-frequency-electromagnetic) of the grid area has beencompleted by a well-known consulting firm and report preparation isunder way.
A number of drill sites were selected by theSilverfields' geological team and permits have been filed for up to2,000 metres of drilling. A government response is expected within a fewweeks. All drill sites are on, or near, existing ranch roads andaccess is excellent.
The new discoveries extend the mineralizedtarget zone to over three kilometres in length. While prospecting aroundthe recently discovered silver-gold Silverfields vein, an unrecordedadit on a strongly mineralized vein system, now known as the Silver Darttunnel, has returned several channel samples which contained preciousmetal values. Initial channel samples returned up to 5.69 grams pertonne gold and 956 grams per tonne silver, by fire assay conducted byAcme Labs in Vancouver, B.C.
Another new system, the Cow Trailvein, was first thought to be small, but has now been exposed for asignificant area. A single channel sample gave values of 3.67 g/t goldand 996 g/t silver. This vein system has now been traced for over 50metres on the east side of the Mt. Richter ridge and has intersected abreccia zone with several fragment types. The size and nature of thisbreccia zone have not been defined; it may be intrusive/volcanic orfault-related.
The Kohler vein zone, near the eastern edge of theproperty, at the foot of Mt. Richter, has now been gridded and sampled, and several channel samples have been sent for assay. This zonecontains strong copper and lead mineralization, along with silver andgold values.
All areas of the property are indicating that theDankoe mine mineralization may extend for several kilometres to theeast. In 1967, the mine vein known as the B vein (MMAR 1967) waslocated underground, near the eastern extent of the workings, andcontained native silver, ruby silver and other silver minerals, andassayed 20,571 g/t in silver. Although mining subsequently occurred inthis area, the eastern and downdip extents were faulted off, and werenever defined.
Geological mapping, prospecting and diamond-sawchannel sampling are now proceeding, and will continue until drillprogram permission is received. All assay results will be released uponreceipt, and regular news updates will be forthcoming.
