Carlin number 2? Shares of ATAC Resources got a boost after the company reported its first summer drill holes on its 100%-owned Rackla Gold Belt in the Yukon. Results came from within the Conrad Zone, which is one of four Carlin-type gold zones drilled within the Osiris area. Highlights from the results include hole OS-11-010, a 100-metre step-out, which yielded 3.15 g/t gold over 114.93 metres, including 4.08 g/t over 82.29 metres. ATAC CEO Graham Downs noted, "We are very excited with the exceptional gold grades intersected 100 metres east of the 2010 Conrad discovery hole," with "drilling at the Osiris area of the Nadaleen Trend well underway and over 75% of the regional soil and silt sampling is complete." Of 45 intervals used to calculate the weighted average grade in hole OS-11-010, 32 intervals yielded greater than 1 g/t gold, while only four intervals returned less than 0.25 g/t. Drilling continues at Conrad with one rig systematically evaluating the gold zone, particularly eastward towards an outcrop exposure that yielded 40.3 g/t. ATAC’s summer drilling program includes eight rigs that will be drilling 40,000 metres during the season.
