Now underway...
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 20, 2011) - Sheltered OakResources Corp. ("OAK" or "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:OAK) reported thatdrilling on the Kerrs Gold Deposit located on its 100% controlled KerrsProperty and the adjacent property in the East Timmins Gold Camp is nowunderway.
An 11,500 m drilling program is proposed with the following objectives:1) Definition drilling within the Kerrs Quartz Carbonate Breccia Zone (KBXZone) hosted in the Kerrs Gold Deposit to expand the mineral resourceinventory2) Extension drilling along the KBX Zone towards the adjoining property3) Stratigraphic fence drilling across the projected Kerrs Deposit trend onthe adjoining property; and4) Reconnaissance drilling on a 1,600 m long parallel structure supportedby MMI geochemical anomalies. The exploration program is outlined as follows:a. 8,300 m of in-fill and extensional drilling on Kerrs Gold Depositb. 1,200 m of reconnaissance drilling on parallel structure supported byMMI geochem anomaliesc. 2,000 m of extensional drilling on the Kerrs Gold Deposit trendprojected on to the Adjacent Property. The Adjacent Property iscontiguous to the northwest boundary of OAK's Kerrs Property. DomeExploration explored the project area from 1977 to 1989 with 55 diamonddrill holes totaling 10,279 m that tested geophysical, stratigraphic andmineralized targets. Gold mineralization is associated with quartz, carbonate, pyrite in narrow, altered brecciated zones of mafic volcanicrocks and chert, jasper, pyrite and magnetite. The volcanic stratigraphyshows an arc-shaped fold geometry which is interpreted from regionalairborne magnetic surveys to be a large antiform occupying most ofChesney Bay and the eastern portion of Kerrs Township. Historicaldrilling in the central portion of the property intersected significantamounts of quartz feldspar porphyry. The Kerrs Gold Deposit trend hasbeen extrapolated over a distance of 1,500 m encompassing the auriferousporphyries drilled by Dome Exploration.
