Allana Potash (AAA.V) and Passport Potash (PPI.V) are both much higher today, maybe on the possibility that they can fill in for some of their much bigger rivals in helping to supply produce to India.
Mosaic Co. Chief Executive Officer Jim Prokopanko this week reportedly announced that Canpotex Ltd., the North American cartel of potash producers, has no spare supply to sell to India this quarter and won't resume negotiations with Indian buyers until "late" in the period.
Bloomberg reported that Canpotex, also a marketing arm of Agrium Inc. (AGU.TO) and Potash Corp (POT.TO), agreed to deliver 630,000 metric tons to China in the second half and now, the "cupboard is bare".
