Stroud Intercepts Wide Mineralized Zone at Santo Domingo: 27.0 Metres of 200.2 g/t Silver and 1.18 g/t Gold Including 6.7 Metres of 453.46 g/t Silver and 3.16 g/t Gold

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jul 20, 2011 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

Stroud Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SDR) ("Stroud" or the "Company") today announced the latest results from its drill program at the Santo Domingo project in central Mexico. Drill results continue to be very encouraging with DDH 37 extending the strike length of the Rayas zone 25 metres to the North.

Drill hole #34 and #34a were drilled on section 5550N essentially horizontally. Drill hole 34 was abandoned at 13.0 metres due to near surface rubble and intersected 5.8 metres of 23.28 g/t silver and 0.13 g/t gold. Drill hole #34a is the continuation of drill hole #34 and assayed 46.0 metres of 44.85 g/t silver and 0.16 g/t gold.

Drill hole #35 was drilled at 5550N at -21 degrees and intersected 36.0 metres of 69.42 g/t silver and 0.28 g/t gold including 9.2 metres of 163.29 g/t silver and 0.51 g/t gold.

Drill hole #36 was drilled at section 5625N and was abandoned at a depth of 41.5 metres due to near surface rubble. The hole intersected 19.4 metres of 64.65 g/t silver and 0.17 g/t gold. Drill hole 36b is the continuation of drill hole #36 and intersected 19.0 metres of 113.58 g/t silver and 0.31 g/t gold, including a high grade section that assayed 1,079 g/t silver 0.96 g/t gold over 2.0 metres. An additional two mineralized zones were encountered at depth.

Drill hole #37 was drilled at section 5650N and indicated a very well mineralized zone of 27.0 metres of 200.20 g/t silver and 1.18 g/t gold, including 6.7 metres of 453.46 g/t silver and 3.16 g/t gold.

Mr. George Coburn stated that despite the tougher than usual drilling conditions of the Northern section of the Rayas zone, Stroud has encountered wide zones of good grade silver and gold mineralization. The mineralized zones were encountered in multiple host rocks lahar and andesite volcanics; which is encouraging because this demonstrates the wide spread nature of the mineralization and increases the potential area in which mineralization could be encountered.

Diamond drilling on the project will be temporarily suspended for approximately 30 days due to a heavier than normal rainy season which has slowed the drilling rate.

QA/QC

The drill core sampling program includes onsite supervision of sampling by Dr. Stew Fumerton. He has included insertion of random blanks and certified reference material. The drill core is sawed in half, with one half sent out for assay and the other half stored in Stroud's secure facility. Gold was determined by Fire Assay with an AA finish whereas silver was determined by ICP after a four acid total digestion. About 20% of the samples have been checked by re-assaying using the more traditional Fire Assay gravimetric finish. George Coburn, P.Geo., President and CEO of Stroud Resources Ltd., is the Qualified Person within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101 for the project, and has prepared or supervised the preparation of all scientific and technical data contained in this news release, including sampling, analytical and test data. Analytical work is performed by ALS Minerals in Vancouver, BC (ISO 9001) Certified Assayers.

Stroud is a debt-free exploration company focused on the discovery and exploration of silver and gold deposits in Mexico and Ontario. Stroud owns a 100% interest in the Santo Domingo epithermal silver-gold project in central Mexico. In addition to the Santo Domingo project, Stroud also owns a 100% interest in the Hislop gold property, near Timmins, Ontario and the Leckie gold property, near North Bay, Ontario. Stroud has granted St. Andrew Goldfields an option to earn up to a 60% interest in the Hislop gold property. Stroud also generates cash flow from a 3.75% interest in six natural gas, and natural gas condensate wells in central Alberta.
