The miner's revised forecast defers 130,000 tonnes of ore it had planned to mine from the high-grade UM1 zone this year into early 2012.

"That's because we decided to spend a little bit more time on development, on drilling in the zone to get a better handle in terms of grade control," Makuch said.

"It's not that we have bad ground at the mine, it's that were actually trying to do things in a different fashion ... adding a little bit more rigour in our work processes"
