Washington back to businessWith the U.S. debt deal set to pass, it certainly alleviates any concerns shareholders may have had regarding the government's ability to honour its contractual commitments with Route1. As Tony tweeted, now that Washington can get back to business, perhaps orders with the FWS and other departments can move ahead. From my viewpoint, the difficulty the U.S. government had in reaching this deal is proof that near-bottomless patience is needing when trying to close a contract with them. However, the good news is that once a contract is reached, they are the best customer a company can have.
I also asked Tony what influence Mike Harris has had on growing business within the Canadian government, given all his contacts there. He responded by saying that yes, he has had influence and that "we are in the 2nd inning with a fed gov't that is just now focusing on security. But we have a couple of really good ops!"
I continue to believe in the product and the leadership at Route1. I am not a cheerleader, and yes, it is sometimes a test of patience but the company is profitable and growing, and is only now beginning to realize some of the potential it has.
I hope everyone is having a great long weekend!
Cheers
