Sign says Pinpoint acquisition to close soon
2011-08-03 12:35 ET - News Release
Mr. Alex Romanov reports
ISIGN MEDIA MOVES FORWARD WITH ITS PLANNED PURCHASE OF ONE OF NORTH AMERICA'S LARGEST DIGITAL SIGNAGE NETWORKS
iSign Media Solutions Inc. is confirming the near-term closing of its purchase of Pinpoint Media Group Inc., as originally announced June 24, 2011. All terms and conditions are being worked on by both sides to conclude the transaction and launch the largest DOOH (digital-out-of-home) broadcast-to-mobile-phone network in the world.
"This is a groundbreaking event in the mobile space and our business model was further confirmed and validated by the July 27, 2011, announcement that Deutsche Telekom has purchased a 2,500-digital-signage network in a leading European supermarket chain," states Alex Romanov, iSign's chief executive officer. Pinpoint Media Group's network in Mac's and Couche-Tard convenience stores is more than twice that with 5,600 screens in Canada.
"Pinpoint's convenience store channel is in the fastest-growing and profitable segment today with frequent shoppers and opportunities to both influence and collect anonymous shopper data," adds Mr. Romanov. "Pinpoint's network of approximately 5,600 digital signs is one of the largest in North America and will be the first in the world to have signage content broadcast to mobile phones of all customers in, and in proximity of, each of the 1,400 stores."
iSign and its partners see a huge broadcasting network that will be able to message approximately 1.5 million shoppers and others in proximity per day. This will be one of the largest single audiences in Canada which will favourably compare with, or surpass, any cable-and-satellite-system viewers, giving advertisers a larger audience with measurement instantly.
"iSign has recently added a proven advertising executive, who has held senior positions over the past 10 years and specialized in launching new systems and technologies to promote the advertising potential of the network to ad agencies and brands in Canada and the USA," says Mr. Romanov.
The company will also be announcing details of its opening of a new office in Tampa to service United States customers and details of new initiatives and technologies this month after the Pinpoint acquisition is completed.
