RE: RE: The art of a press releaseI don't need or want to defend the writer but he did refer to what you say in the article. I don't have the quote but he seemed to cover the legal disclosure part by saying that a company puts their news on their website and then uses social media to let everyone know about said news, making it public. So in effect it likely would reach the same or more people. I would expect that most follow companies websites, twitter, facebook, and what ever else there is now.
I'm no social media nut, I don't even have a facebook account and only got twitter to follow sports and stocks, but it does make sense to me. Every media website has links for the facebook, twitter, etc. accounts at the end of their stories. I have resigned myself that this is simply the way the world is going, no point fighting it.
