Black Panther Mobilizes in Labrador to Begin Drilling
of Voisey’s Bay Type Targets
West Vancouver, British Columbia – August 17, 2011 – Black Panther Mining Corp. (the “Company” or “Black Panther”) is pleased to announce that all required Mines Permits have been received and that Cartwright Drilling has been commissioned to drill the Company’s Alliger Lake 1506 property located 90km north of Nain Labrador (the “Property”). The Company previously reported in its news release dated October 27, 2008, that it had identified several VTEM (versatile time domain electromagnetic) east-west trending geophysical anomalies that are coincident with primary magmatic layering in a troctolitic host intrusion. The Company subsequently completed an NI 43-101 Geophysical Report dated May 2009, which is available under the Company’s profile on SEDAR at www.sedar.com. The identified geophysical targets are highly anomalous over a distance of several hundred metres. The Company’s planned core drill program of up to 1,200 metres is designed to test these significantly anomalous VTEM Voisey’s Bay (copper, nickel, cobalt) type targets.
Caracle Creek International Consulting of Sudbury, Ontario has been retained and will be supervising the drilling program. The Company has been notified that the field camp and other supplies are now being mobilized and drilling is scheduled to commence in the beginning of September 2011.
Property History
Columbia Yukon Explorations Inc. (the Company’s joint venture partner) core drilled shallow holes on the Property which were designed to test gossanous showings of mineralization observed on the mountainside. On June 7, 1996, Columbia Yukon reported to have intersected 2.78 metres with a weighted average grade of 0.67 percent Ni, 0.63 percent Cu and 0.124 percent Co. The semi-massive sulphides intersected appear to be primary magmatic mineralization similar to that of Voisey’s Bay. The Company believes that the work producing Columbia Yukon’s historical drill results was completed by competent persons to the standards of today however the results are historical and we caution the reader that they should not be relied upon.
