I have made 2 trips now to Reno and out to the Rye Patch properties and I have too much to report here in one post. I am a shareholder of Rye Patch Gold as a result of a conversation with a friend and my review of documents available on the Internet. Having the opportunity to visit the property and talk with the geologists involved has been a great pleasure and has increased the level of comfort with my purchase of this company’s shares.Let me say that I have always felt a sense of wonder as I drove by Lovelock on my way to dig for Nevada’s Virgin Valley opals, the hills and mountains to the east of the hiway exhibited an intense amount of alteration over large areas (red, orange and yellowl rocks) and at the north end of the range was an obvious open pit mine, a big one. (Florida Canyon). A geothermal field is in obvious display midway up the range and roadside signs warn folks to stay out of the hot spring or risk scalding... all right next to Inter-state 80. As a gold prospector this area caught my eye. Little did I know then that just over the ridge was the Rochester silver mine, a monster open pit silver mine, +120 million ounces and counting largest in N. America. It’s no longer a wonder, this was a monster mineralizing system. that drove the formation of a REGION of precious metal and other valuable mineral deposits. Midway's Spring Valley Deposit is a stones throw from Rye Patch's Lincoln Hill resource area,. Spring Valley is described as being formed from diatremes and intrusions of magma. I know this about diatremes, they have a tendency to occur in clusters. Lincoln Hill is an altered and mineralized rhyolite volcanic deposit with deep-seated roots, as indicated by mantle-derived rocks coursing across the property; big, deep plumbing here. I saw other areas that looked prospective outside the selected targets of Rye Patch's current drilling program. Drilling began today at Rye Patch’s Garden Gate Pass property with Steve Brown on site. This property is along the trend that hosts the monster Cortez Hills Mine.
