Thoughts I read that underground mining in protected forest may be exempt from the moratorium.
How feasible, and economical would it be for EAS to operate an underground mine @ Miwah?
I think they bought into Carbon Conservation, so they can find protected forests in Aceh, so EAS can swap. For instance, they may say that for every hectare of protected forest they mine, they will conserve 2, or 3 hectares in protected forest, overseen by Carbon Conservation. So they may still be able to get permitted for an open pit mine, if the local government has enough political cover, from the swap program, for granting EAS a mining permit.
