RE: EFL has no TS 16949 Automotive CertificationWell, with all the emotions cast aside, this promise will not happen: In the telephone conference from August 15, Dr. Sankar Das Gupta stated that they will have obtained TS certification by Q1, 2012. That is 7 months and one week away from now. Fact is that, even if EFL manages to have their complete house in order, with less than 12 months of TS-quality records, the best they could hope for would be a "letter of conformance", rather than a full certificate. More likely, if you have all your ducks in a row (that is: a system of internal audits, by people with audit training, an established sequence of management reviews, an extended track record of process measurements, corresponding records), you will be granted your stage 1 official audit, after which it will be 6 to 8 months to get full certification.
Who here wants to bet that Electrovaya has its house in order, management reviews in place, a system of internal audits? Raise your hands. I see one hand: K.George. All others doubt it. So do I. We will see. A TS certificate by March 31, 2012 is as likely as the on-time delivery by September 30 of the first 1.5MWh utility storage system.
