RE: PLET More Advanced than LEC?...

RE: PLET More Advanced than LEC?...chalkmarks, the link I provided was from the IllinoisVoice April 28, 2011 edition, so it's quite recent.

I previously checked Pure Lignin Environmental Technologies' website and I admit it is dated, but they are after all a private company at present.

It seems they've already gone through the same stages of testing and commercialization that Lignol is going through now, but the difference is they are ready for contruction of their biorefinery and commercialization.

Construction/retrofit of a biorefinery is projected to begin later this year and it seems that they may be getting secured funding loans from both the USDA (Dept. of Agriculture) and the DOE (Dept. of Energy) in the States.

Again, it's not to say that Lignol won't eventually do the same, but PLET has already produced High Quality Lignin that competes with LEC's HP-L Lignin, and PLET already has gone through most of their pre-planning and is now in the process of building/retrofitting a 2nd generation biorefinery in Jasper Tenessee where there was previously producing ethanol plant which is now closed.

PLET should have their commercial plant up and producing before the end of 2012 as per the report in the link I provided.  It seems that PLET has all their ducks lined up, while LEC is still testing and awaiting results.  You have to admit, we aren't the leaders here, at least not in commercialization.

There are other companies already producing High Quality Lignin, albeit in smaller quantities besides PLET and Lignol.

Competition is real.  I just hope that Lignol's management has what it takes to get things done, sooner than later.  Time is money.  Don't mean to sound negative, but I am a tad concerned.

It's been since April that they began selling their HP-L Lignin for testing, and we haven't gotten an update as to how successful the trials have been (OSB market), nor any plans on building a commercial biorefinery to meet market demand.  atb
