Glad to hear that.
I am from Cairo the south part, about 25 KM away from the pyramids, but in Cairo there is nothing for you to see other than the pyramids, and the Egyptian museum in labaration square (the heart of the downtwon where the protesting take place last january and it became revaluation all over Egypt.
The rest of the historical sites are in the south, about 500 KM south of Cairo.
There is also the red sea where you can find the most beatiful views under water (that is what they say, but I had never been there) and in the north is the medterranean sea, Alaxendra is one of the best. and that is about 230 KM north of Cairo
