You've hit on one of my pet peeves.

Investing is not supposed to be gambling.  It really isn't.  Yet that is what it appears to have become, in the mind of the general public.  Listen to any show on BNN and you'll hear the talking heads refer to this bank or that fund "betting" on higher interest rates, or rising oil prices or whatever. 

The language of gambling has infested the jargon of investing to the point that the two are becomming indistinguishabe.

I really don't think that I am in some giant casino, "gambling" with my life savings.
