EnWave Announces Start-up of Pilot-Scale quantaREV(TM) Technology

EnWave Corporation (TSX VENTURE:ENW)(FRANKFURT:E4U) ("EnWave" or "the Company") announced the successful startup of their pilot-scale quantaREV(TM) dehydration technology at the Company's pilot plant facility in Delta, British Columbia. EnWave has now initiated specific product testing on the machine and plans to begin customer testing in late September. Moreover, the Company plans to build five additional lab-scale REV units over the course of this year to increase availability for expected on-going paid testing and collaborations.

EnWave had previously conducted successful testing on a lab-scale quantaREV(TM) machine at the company's facilities earlier this year. quantaREV(TM) is designed to meet the requirements of food and chemical production companies for high-volume continuous, low-temperature dehydration of solids, liquids, granular or encapsulated products. quantaREV(TM) introduces a continuous belt design within a controlled vacuum-microwave environment, allowing the potential for dehydration of up to several tonnes of material per hour, a significant innovation in EnWave's REV dehydration technology.

"We are tremendously excited to begin quantaREV(TM) testing with our current and potential collaborators," stated Dr. Tim Durance, EnWave's Chairman and Co-CEO. "We expect the efficiency and scalability of quantaREV(TM) to make REV an attractive technology for large scale processing of high quality food ingredients and snacks, as well as chemical and industrial applications."

EnWave's new quantaREV(TM) dehydration technology uses a proprietary continuous belt design in a uniquely controlled vacuum-microwave environment in order to accommodate a wide range of input materials. quantaREV(TM) will complement EnWave's current suite of dehydration technologies which include nutraREV(TM), a commercial technology used for drying discrete food pieces tumbling in a vacuum-microwave environment, and powderREV(TM), an accelerated freeze drying process currently being tested as a means for bulk drying of biomaterials such as probiotics and enzymes. The Company also has two other prototype dehydration technologies, bioREV(TM) and freezeREV(TM), both of which are designed to dry biomaterials in vials such as vaccines and other biopharmaceuticals, scientific reagents, and medical diagnostic materials.
