R&D .. The Chinese are famous for that .... but then if you were a doctor ... would you buy the real product or a cheap Chinese clone even at a third of the cost. Don't know about you ... but Im not trusting my life to a Chinese knock off. Besides, in my experience, Chinese products break at the first opportunity. I always go with the more expensive product cause you get what you pay for.
