Gingerich as Scientist

Gingerich has an interesting scientific background as head of technical innovation at Noranda. He has an interest in optics, remote sensing and other difficult fields. Obviously a lot smarter than the typical Vancouver stock promoter! I think his background in innovative technology probably explains AXI's openness to new-ish technology and mining strategies. For example:

Iron nuggets. Was unproven, demonstration plant recently went online. Looks like fabulous technology if it works.

Iron sands. Proven in at one plant in New Zealand, but obviously fairly unusual. I'd never heard of it before.

Bulk commodity mining in the Arctic with no rail. Modular plants barged in. Both innovative approaches.

The scientific mind embraces the new and the innovative. Another kind of mind runs from the new and the innovative.
