RE: Wi-lan & the OSCRug,
The whole basis of trying to get the SRP is to max
out the number of shareholder votes against the plan
originally. My understanding is that shares recently
purchased and leading up the vote were not allowed
to be voted on, which resulted in a meager 9.7%
against vote. There was a news item discussing these
facts but I can no longer find it...not even on Sedar.
I hope someone can help. What I could find is this:
Reconfirm the continued existence
of a shareholder rights plan dated
as of July 8, 2005
Shareholders reconfirmed the Shareholders
Rights Plan by ballot vote. 5,920,473 common
shares, representing 90.3% of the common
shares present at the Meeting in person or by
proxy were voted in favour of the resolution
and 636,120 common shares, representing
9.7% of the common shares present at the
Meeting in person or by proxy were voted
against the resolution
My feeling is Wilan's camp of investment companies
were buying Mosaid shares on the open market
The 9.7 % is puney. I have a feeling that number should
be more towards 40-60%.
IMHO.
