RE: RE: RE: RE: A " Chandler " teflon2hype"Since mid-July, Mandolin paid between $4.05 and more than $7.50 a share for a total of about $195-million for its stake. Much of that value disappeared on paper Friday after Sino-Forest’s stock tumbled 72 per cent to $1.38 a share on New York’s over-the-counter market."
The above is taken from the Globe (August 30 article), and confirmed by many other sources.

if Chandler is a visionary, then why would he pay so much for a stock he could get for $1.38? Would someone explain to me how visionary it is to have 75% of your initial investment wiped out? Even if it is just a 'paper loss' woulnd't a visionary know better than to pay so much?Isn't a more probable explanation is that like many other investors, he made a mistake? If you believe he is a God and can do no wrong, then I guess that's also a possibility, but if he is a just a smart investor who did very well, but stumbled from time to time, perhaps this is one of those times?
Just a question, would love to read an answer.
