RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: AS far as Bonanza? "Why would they merge with a mine that is running out of silver?"
I can't tell for sure whether this is a question that infers incredulance that anybody could possibly merge with "a mine" that is running out of silver, or
Whether you find it incredulous that anyone would even dare ask the question,
Anyway, a company doesn't merge with a mine, it merges with another company; in this case, the one that owned La Guitarra.
And so, the question becomes why would they (Silvermex) merge with another company (Genco), that owns the mining rights to a highly prospective property which includes the La Guitarra mine? One reason might be that other parts of the property were seen as the real potential. I've heard that there is another 95% still to be assessed.
And, even if La Guitarra itself was seen as the "gem", experts can be wrong! Bear in mind that an awful lot of energy has gone into evaluating past drill results, even since the merger.
Don't misunderstand me! I still believe Silvermex bought a winning property, but it's still a belief at this point! It would appear that Genco's original resource estimate has yet to be proved beyond question.
It's interesting to note that the latest mining results indicate La Guitarra is not the centre of present Silvermex's mining activity. The results also gave me the impression that drill results at La Guitarra itself were not that great.
"Bottom line: an investor better understand about epithermal systems, and pinch and swell geology."
One must also take into account that there was a lot of doubt in the market place surrounding the published reserves. That doesn't necessarily mean the reserves are wrong, but there are probably still people (who do understand pinches and swells) and yet still have doubts.
And do your remarks mean that if we don't understand "pinches and swells", and all the other hundreds of very specialized terms that geologists use, we should stick to investing in say matchstick manufacture, the engineering of which is possibly within our limits of comprehension?
Anyway, my long-winded reply is not to belittle your points, but rather to suggest the jury is still out on just what this Genco property really has.
Put me down as a heavily invested agnostic at this point! I don't know for sure if the sun will come up tomorrow, but I'm going ahead on the assumption it will! So, too, with Silvermex.
