Stuffed. - Part II

Stuffed. - Part IIGood points Stuffed.

We have to remember that nearly all lithium production up until recently was used for base uses in glass, ceramics, etc.  One hardrock mine in Australia was virtually meeting world demand for small lithium batteries.  US production (some brine by the way) just couldn't compete so they shut down.  Now, with the very real demand explosion for large-scale batteries everyone is scrambling for any source of lithium they can locate.  Most ventures will fall by the wayside as start-up costs are too high and/or the deposit is simply not going to be environmentally or economically viable.  Some will succeed but, as I said before, there are problems with the brine deposits that don't exist with CLQ's lithium.

As for the Chinese, everyone knows that they, more than all the rest of the world combined, need massive quantities of lithium in order to electrify their transportation and energy storage capabiilties.  They can't meet their own needs. Sure they will be acquiring every foreign deposit they can get their hands on.  They need to supply tens of million of electric cars and trucks domestically and, as we all know, they will be exporting electric cars all over the world as well.  The Chinese cannot continue to pollute their cities they way they are and they also know that depending on foreign oil is future suicide.  Further, we've already seen their protectionist moves with rare earth minerals and magnesium and manganese to name just a few.  They're going to protect their own reserves as long as possible so that when everyone else runs out, they will carry on somewhat farther.

Only my thoughts Stuffed.

Split.
