Fact: it cost CLM $164 million to build 31 km of rail, a train yard, and support facilities. Some of the "non-rail" costs do scale along with how many km's of rail you build. More kilometers of rail = more sidings, more support infrastructure, more bodies of water to ford, more permitting costs.

What do you think it's going to cost Champion to build 62 km of rail, train yard and support facilities today, when equipment/labor costs have skyrocketed? A million per km? Really?

Don't believe the optimistic management nonsense. Champion's 62km spur is going to cost at least $300 million. And if they have to build 140 km of rail directly to QNSL? Oh lord, the project will be in deep trouble.
