Yes, upon further consideration, a Chinese offtake deal would definitely kill the possibility of a Arcelor takeover. After Alderon, Champion probably has the most buildable large-scale iron mine in the Labrador Trough, so an offtake deal will be there if they want it.

Arcelor should be less stubborn. They missed out on Consolidated Thompson, and CHM looks cheap right now. At takeover off $175 million in shares would lock up a lot of iron ore right next to their rail line.
