Casey's Energy Report in its Oct. 26, 2011, issue, says buy Stream Oil & Gas Ltd. at 81 cents, officially, "Buy under C$1.00." The newsletter twice urged subscribers to buy the Albanian explorer, but the instructions did not work out. On Feb. 19, 2010, he said buy Stream Oil, then 66 cents, but do not pay more than 40 cents. It then said buy on July 19, 2010, at 70 cents, but, "Buy under C
.45." Lukewarm buys such as these are difficult for investors to follow because of the gap between the trading price and the buy price, so we had weak buys that to many meant do not buy at current prices. For portfolio purposes, we did not buy. In a "sell" in the Oct. 20, 2010, issue, the writer noted the stock never dropped to its buy point. Instead, it "hit the ground and just kept on running." Now the stock is under $1 again after reaching a 52-week high of $2.97 in December, 2010. Stream boasts several projects in Albania and is mainly focused on development, well takeovers and reactivations rather than exploration. It produces only heavy oil, but this still earns $44 a barrel to the company. The writer warns Stream may need more financing to expand production, to fully develop the Delvina project and to rework inventory wells at Ballsh.
