RE: RE: radamesb Common vs. Preferred sharesHow about we say commons require a considerably different strategy and mindset?    Without day trading or shorting, the commons have done very well for me and I expect the remaining 105K commons that I hold are going to look just fine a year from now.    I will say that getting them to a profitable point has been a gut-wrenching process at times and I am glad to have sold half of them off and brought the average price down to levels that I consider quite safe.   I'm also not sure I would have touched the commons if I were at or near retirement age because they have been extremely volatile and definitely not for someone seeking a steady, secure, yield-based investment.
