Estimate Byron Capital estimated that Vanadium (V) requirements of electrical grade V205 for EV's and VRB's will be 20,429 tonne by 2014 (See page 15 of their Nov 12, 2009 report titled “Vanadium The Supercharger”).
Since 1.0 tonne of Vanadium (V) translates to ~1.785 tonne V205, the estimated annual requirement for electrical grade V2O5 for EV's and VRB's would be ~36,466 tonne for 2014, meaning that electrical grade V2O5 would be ~80.39 million pounds. (One tonne equals 2,204.6 pounds)
Energizer's Green Giant Mine presently has a resource consisting of 49.5 million tonne grading 0.693% Indicated and 9.7 million tonne grading 0.632% Inferred, giving a total resource of 59.2 million tonne grading ~0.683% V2O5.
If just half of this resource were converted to a Proven and Probable Reserve having stated recoveries of 82%, it would support a ~8,100 tonne day mining and processing facility for 10 years.
Such an operation could produce ~36.55 million pounds of electrical grade V2O5 annually over the 10 year period.
Since the estimated resource tonnage potential at Green Giant Mine is far in excess of 59.2 million tonne, Energizer seems considerably undervalued.
Caution: At this stage, the above are estimates.
