Timeline with Morgan Stanley:The Morgan Stanley seller got me really interested to do some more digging. After including their 167K shares sold today, it brings their total net sale since Oct 26th (the day Argentina made the repatriation announcement) to approximately 2.28 million shares sold.
Now checking institutional holdings, it shows that CWV has more than 20% of the shares held by institutions and approximately 12-15% held by insiders. So using the low end (20% and 12%), that means approximately 17.5 million shares of the outstanding 54.7 million shares are held by insiders and institutions. That leaves only 37.2 million shares to trade around, so I will conclude that MS has to be close to completing their selling.
Remember, after YPF came out with their news of the oil discovery CWV had it's highest volume day in more than a year (on Nov 8th, 2.52 million CWV shares traded). MS used that day as an opportunity to sell 1.057 million shares with zero bought. Again, the MS seller seems to be using any opportunity to get out due to the repatriation announcement by Argentina and also to most likely do some tax loss selling and may be convert their money into USD (could be an American account).
Anyways, CWV is looking really cheap now, especially when you see the analysts targets of $3 and I think MS shouldn't have too much more shares to sell.
