That's the one question that always puzzled me is - what do they do with the so called "produced water" after they come back to the tank?  I assume right now they just truck that away somewhere and dumped or buried.  If that water can be recycled on site that would solve a lot of the problems, plus shut up the "environmental terrorists".   

As well that is likely a lot of cost savings involved.  Trucking away the residuals from the recycled water should be much less expensive than trucking away the "produced water" (if that's what they do now).  Water weighs 8lb. per galleon and "produced water" is likely even heavier.  I think it's easy and less expensive to truck away the "mud sludge".

If you can expand on this process on someone uninformed like me it would be great appreciated.
