It is because of the high cost of labor, and other costs. social programs which cause higher taxes that China, Indonesia, Taiwan and other Asian countries now have the manufacturing base.

And it is you who goes to Wall Mart, Zellers, Target and others who import these non union manufactured goods because they are cheaper.    Thus putting Norh American workers on the bread line.  And tell me you support Unions?  Do you even look to see if the products you buy are North American Made let alone in a UNION shop. NOT!  Where was your TV made?  Is one of your vehicles an import ?  The list could go on and on.    Brotherhood is great but only when it suits.

The Corporate World is no different regardless of who they are or what they do..  The Almighty buck is the bottom line.

Trail was built and paid for under conditions much different than building the same thing today.  Teck may seem huge but not compared to Anglo American, Vale, Norlisk,Codelco, Freeport, Phelps Dodge and others. That is another level up .
