...are there plans to continue with hole 1 or can we assume it has been abandoned?


Hole 1 has been suspended but not abandoned (as if that makes any difference) and the big rig from hole 1 has moved to hole 3. Until and unless hole 3 is complete hole 1 will stay suspended. As far as I can tell the technical problems at hole 1 have not been solved and there is no assurance that they can be i.e. hole 1 was more likely to have continued setbacks as occurred with hole 2 then swapping to hole 3. Hole 3 is now reaching the depths where things started to go wrong with hole 1 but maybe they have learnt that lesson.
Not good news as suspected but not the end. There was stronger language about Headway in the update "best gold property anywhere" - but there is nothing changed so it is just putting positive spin on a bad situation.
