Reserve classifications

Reserve classificationsThought I would share a good summary of what different reserve categories are. Once again, my postings just will not format properly, so it will be mashed somewhat together. I cannot take credit for this, but it is a great way to understand different reserve classifications, this will be in two posts.–– Proved Developed Producing – Reasonably certain future production from wells that are currently producing–– Proved Developed Non-Producing – Reasonably certain future production from reservoirs in wells that have been drilled but aren’t currently producing–– Proved Undeveloped – Reasonably certain future production from future wells that have not yet been drilled–- Probable Reserves – Future production that has a greater than 50 percent chance of being recovered–- Possible Reserves – Future production that has a greater than 10 percent chance of being recovered– Potential/Prospective Reserves – Future production that is extremely uncertain--Contingent - Similar to proven non-producing but ...Future production is possible, but infrastructure and market has to be in place.
