The Top 5 bottom fishes ...

The Top 5 bottom fishes ...The Canadian markets have been beaten into submission and the venture exchange has taken it on the chin. Here are the Top 5beaten down bottom fishes with a few tid-bits about each. They are all trading at less than 3 cents at their 52 week lows and are the most promising bottom fishes out there ! They all do fair enough volume.

v.AEX (Appleton Exploration Inc.) currently @ 2.5 cents

Very recent large and frequent insider buying on the open market (see:https://www.canadianinsider.com/node/7?menu_tickersearch=aex) Insiders not just sitting on the bid but rather buying on the asks. A small share float with less than 49 million shares outstanding. The company has a strong cash position. According to Appleton Exploration's last SEDAR MD & A:
-

Liquidity and Capital Resources

The Company's working capital at August 31, 2011 was $921,098 ... The Company currently has sufficient working capital to actively pursue locating a new mineral property project.

v.VER (Vecta Energy Inc.) currently @ 1.5 cents

The management of Vecta Energy has been very aggressive in going after Bakken oil plays. The stock has seen these current depressed levels in the past only to be propelled to over 30 cents on Bakken prospects. Canaccord has been trying to scoop some shares up at 1.5 cents and there is the occasional buying at 2 cents.

v.CYP (Cypress Development Corp.) currently @ 2.5 cents

Something seems to be cooking (witness last Friday's trading.) The stock has always had a great audience and likes to move up in a hurry. Their Brolan Reef property is very promising and Mr. Huston et al definitely know the right people.

v.ARK (Archer Petroleum Corp.)
currently
@ 1.5 cents

Recent insider buying on the open market (see: https://www.canadianinsider.com/node/7?menu_tickersearch=ark) Insiders not just sitting on the bid but rather buying on the asks. A very small share float with less than 38 million shares outstanding. Archer has interests in the prolific Bakken shale play as well as in Texas.

v.PGC (Plato Gold Corp.) currently @ 2 cents

Sometimes a chart is so bad it starts to look good ! Just plain oversold ! Plato has interest in the Timmins gold camp, Val d'Or Quebec as well as Argentina. At 2 & 2.5 cents the shares are a gift.
