You may want to try CIBC had a few problems in past with IMPERIAL SERVICE but they will allow you to go to a self directed Investors edge account and trades are $6.95 vs IMPERIAL $39.00

only requirements are you always maintain 100k in cibc investments or i think they even include mortgages, also you can include rrsp cash anything basically have 100k i cibc the switch took me about 2 days
